                                      BIOGRAPHY

 

Christopher’s passion for Lampworking began in October of 1999 where he took a ten day intensive class in a small town in Massachusetts. His first day on the torch was an instant addiction that has since blossomed into a career. After getting the basics during his first days of class, he set out to get his own studio and equipment, and opened in January of 2000. 

A year later he met his wife Jacquelyn, and introduced her to the art of Flame worked glass. Having a degree in Fine Arts and an amazing talent for painting she took to glass like a moth to a flame. It was a natural transition for her, she also helped Christopher, helping him  become more of an artist. 

Throughout the beginning stages of his career he sought out well known artists such as Robert Mickelson, Milon Townsend, and Eric Goldshmidt, trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible to expand his horizons. “I’m always amazed at the endless possibilities of glass, seeing what others are able to create.” Inspired by the people he learned from, Christopher and Jacquelyn decided that they would like to be able to share their passion with others and began to teach classes. 

Almost 10 years later they are now nestled in the small town of Boonville NY where they have their own teaching studio and small gallery, open to the public, so they can continue to help educate and share their love of Flame working. They have taught many classes throughout their career and have even had the honor to teach a week long class at the Corning Museum of Glass in January of 2009. 

Enrolled as a full time student in the welding program at Mohawk Valley Community College in 2009, the business is now taking a new direction. Christopher is looking to combine the two mediums as a new way to express himself. Always inspired by things in nature, you never know what kind of creations they will come up with next. Being such an endless source for new ideas, the possibilities are unimaginable.
